April 28th, 2013 - Rodney Sanders Conquers Lakeside Speedway Sunday Go
Rodney Sanders made the last minute decision to travel to Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) on Sunday afternoon for an USRA Open Wheel Modified program. It would prove to be a good decision as he raced to his ninth win of the 2013 season.

Twenty-four competitors took part in the program, and a fifth to second run in his heat race positioned Sanders starting the feature event in the seventh starting spot for the 20 lap finale. By the time the caution flew on lap 12 of the main event Sanders had raced his way into the second spot behind race leader, Aaron Marrant. On the ensuing restart Rodney jumped to the lead only to have Marrant go back around him. Over the final few circuits of the event the duo battled side by side with Sanders claiming the win by a bumper at the checkered flag over Marrant!

April 27th, 2013 - Sanders Strong in USMTS Triple Header
1On Thursday evening Rodney Sanders opened a tripleheader with the USMTS Open Wheel Modifieds with a $4,000-to-win event in his home state of Texas. The action was contested at Texas Thunder Speedway (Killeen, Texas), and Sanders started the night with mechanical struggles in heat race action, which left him starting deep in a b-main. With the top six finishers advancing from b-main action to the 40 lap finale Sanders impressively advanced ten spots from his fifteenth starting spot to finish fifth, which locked him into the twenty-first starting spot for the feature. In the main event Rodney again passed ten cars on his way to an eleventh place finish.

Friday night found the USMTS tour making its first ever trip to Kennedale Speedway Park (Kennedale, Texas) as another $4,000-to-win affair was contested. In heat race action Sanders didn't disappoint his home state fans with a third to first run as he earned a spot in the evening's redraw for the 40 lap feature. After receiving the fifth starting spot Sanders went on to race to a second place finish in the evening's finale behind race winner, Johnny Scott.

The busy three day stretch with the USMTS competitors drew to a close on Saturday evening at Southern Oklahoma Speedway (Ardmore, Oklahoma). Forty-two competitors converged on the speed plant in pursuit of the $4,000 prize, and Rodney would need a second place finish in b-main action to race his way into the main event. In the feature he started fifteenth on the grid for the finale before advancing ten spots to record a fifth place finish behind race winner, Johnny Scott, Zack VanderBeek, Stormy Scott, and Chris Brown.

Rodney continues to lead the standings in the Allgayer Inc. Southern Region. Full results from all three events are available at www.USMTS.com.

April 20th, 2013 - Sanders Claims Pair of Top Fives in USMTS Competition
1With Mother Nature claiming the win on Thursday night at Valley Speedway (Grain Valley, Missouri), the USMTS competitors traveled to Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) on Friday evening for a $3,000-to-win program at the state-of-the-art facility.

Sanders started his night by recording a second place finish in his heat race to lock into the tenth starting spot for the 30 lap feature. With heavy rain from the day prior leaving the track rough and fast Rodney battled forward to a fourth place finish in the 30 lap feature behind race winner, Jeremy Payne, Ryan Gustin, and Jason Hughes.

Saturday found Sanders competing at the Salina Highbanks Speedway (Salina, Oklahoma) in a $4,000-to-win event that drew a field of thirty-one entries to the lightning-fast oval. After starting deep in his heat race Rodney fell just short of earning enough points to lock into the 35 lap finale, and as a result was forced to run a b-main. A win in the second b-main positioned him starting fourteenth on the grid for the finale. Despite starting deep in the field Sanders advanced nine spots in the feature to record a fifth place finish behind race winner, Stormy Scott, Jason Hughes, Johnny Scott, and Ryan Gustin.

April 13th, 2013 - Rodney Sanders Qualifies for NDRL Feature at I-55

Rodney Sanders once again was behind the wheel of Jason Krohn's #7k MB2 Customs/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model over the weekend as the team went into war in a pair of $20,000-to-win, National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) Super Late Model events in Kentucky and Illinois.

On Friday night an ultra-talented field of fifty-five of the nation's best Super Late Model pilots registered for action, and struggles in time trials left Sanders starting deep in a heat race grid. With the top three finishers transferring to the feature he raced his way to a sixth place finish, which sent him to a b-main. In the b-main he quickly worked his way forward and flirted with a transfer spot for much of the event before falling just short of the mark, as night came to an early end.

Saturday evening found Sanders entering his first-ever event at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 (Pevely, Missouri) as he went head-to-head with a stout field of fifty competitors. A solid qualifying effort positioned him on the front row of a heat race, and after battling for the lead early in the race he recorded a third place finish to lock into the eighteenth starting spot for the 75 lap finale. Sanders advanced a few spots early in the feature before ultimately crossing the finish line in the sixteenth position.

April 6th, 2013 - Rodney Sanders Competes with WoO in Illini 100
Rodney Sanders entered his first-ever World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model event over the weekend as he took Jason Krohn's #7k MB2 Customs/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle in the annual Illini 100 at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois).

The $20,000-to-win event drew a talented field of forty Super Late Models to the 1/4 mile oval, and via qualifications on Friday evening Sanders earned the seventh starting spot for his heat race. With the top four finishers transferring to the feature the team had high hopes of qualifying for the finale, but a flat tire on the second lap of the heat forced Sanders pitside. As a result, he started deep in a b-main on Saturday night and would fail to reach a transfer spot as his weekend came to an early end.
