April 24th, 2016 - Sanders Bags a Pair of Top Five Finishes
1Traveling to Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) on Friday night, Rodney Sanders was one of thirty-five cars signed in for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned 5th Annual Tompkins Industries Rumble on the River’s Edge. Coming from the tail in his heat, Sanders gained five positions securing his spot into the feature with a 4th place outing. Starting in 12th for the feature, Rodney stormed his way through the field ten spots notching a runner-up finish behind Jesse Sobbing with Johnny Scott, Kerry Davis, and Derek Ramirez rounding out the top five.

The following night brought Rodney to Randolph County Raceway (Moberly, Missouri) for the 6th Annual Sydenstricker Farm & Lawn Shootout. Placing 2nd in his heat race, Rodney was slated to start the 37-lap A-Main from the pole position starting spot. After leading the first 18 laps, Sanders suffered a flat tire sending him back to a 12th place outing.

Wrapping up the three-day stint in the USMTS, Sanders headed to Atchison County Raceway (Atchison, Kansas) on Sunday for the Inaugural Cage Match presented by R&S Automotive. Improving two positions in his heat, Rodney notched a heat race win and transferred into the feature with a 2nd row starting position. Battling for a $3,000 payday Rodney Sanders fell one spot in the 52-lap A-Main recording a 4th place finish behind Cade Dillard, Jason Hughes, and Daniel Hilsabeck with Jesse Sobbing coming in 5th.

April 16th, 2016 - Three Top Ten Finishes For Sanders in Super Late Model
1Returning behind the wheel of his Super Late Model, Rodney Sanders traveled to Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) on Friday night for the event sanctioned by both the MARS DIRTcar Series and the Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series. Competing in a field of twenty-eight cars, Sanders captured a heat race victory transferring him into the $5,000-to-win A-Main. Working his way into the top five, Rodney scored a 4th place finish behind Jimmy Mars, Justin Kay, and Tony Jackson Jr. with Chris Simpson coming in 5th.

1Saturday night brought Sanders to 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa) for the $10,555-to-win Slocum 50. Notching a runner-up finish in his heat behind Chris Simpson, Rodney secured his spot into the 50-lap A-Main. Hanging on to a top ten finish, Rodney Sanders logged an 8th place finish in the main event.

1Hopping on the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) tour, Rodney closed out the weekend by visiting State Fair Speedway (Sedalia, Missouri) for the $5,000-to-win show. Posting a 3rd place finish in his heat, Sanders locked his spot into the 30-lap feature. Bringing home his best finish of the weekend, Rodney Sanders scored a 3rd place finish behind Billy Moyer Jr. and Terry Phillips with Jason Papich and Randy Timms rounding out the top five. April 9th, 2016 - Rodney Sanders Battles in Late Model Lucas Oil Speedway
1On Friday night Rodney Sanders invaded Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) for the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) season-opener. With forty-one Super Late Models signed in for the two-day Spring Nationals, Sanders scored a runner-up finish in his heat behind Jason Papich. Starting in 8th for the $2,000-to-win feature, Rodney fell back to 25th place outing.

1The following night proved to be better for Sanders as he started the night off with a heat race victory from pole position starting spot. Transferring into the $5,000-to-win main event, Rodney was slated to start 7th for the 45-lap affair. Holding on to a top ten finish, Rodney Sanders recorded a 9th place finish. (Todd Boyd Photo)

April 2nd, 2016 - Sanders Posts Podium Finish in King of America VI
1Piloting the #20 Swan Energy/MB Customs Open Wheel Modified, Rodney Sanders traveled to Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) on Thursday night for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) King of America VI presented by Chix Gear. Drawing one-hundred and six entries for the opening night event, Sanders reeled in a 2nd place finish in his first heat behind Tanner Mullens. Improving four positions in his second heat of the evening, Rodney’s 4th place finish in his heat put him in tenth in the points standings heading into Friday’s action. (CRP Photos)

1Coming from 10th in his first heat race, Rodney gained eight positions scoring a runner-up finish behind Brady Gerdes. Placing 3rd in his second heat of the evening, Sanders was slated to start the $12,000-to-win USMTS King of America VI from 3rd row.

1Battling with Jason Hughes early in the race, Rodney went on two advance two spots in the 72-lap affair notching a 3rd place finish behind Zack VanderBeek and Johnny Scott with Jeremy Payne and Hunter Marriott rounding out the top five.
