February 27th, 2016 - Three Top Five Outings For Sanders at Ark-La-Tex Speedway
1Returning to his Open Wheel Modified, Rodney Sanders was one of sixty-five entries signed in on Thursday night at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) for United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned 5th Annual Cajun Clash. Recording a 3rd place spot in his heat, Sanders transferred into the B-Main with a front row starting spot. Transferring the top three, Rodney cruised to a 15-lap consolation win. Starting in 15th for the $2,000-to-win A-Main, Rodney Sanders worked his way through the field eleven positions scoring a 4th place finish behind Stormy Scott, Terry Phillips and Jason Hughes with Jamie Burford coming in 5th.

1Coming from the 3rd place starting position, Rodney captured a heat race win on Friday night giving him an 8th place start spot for the feature. Working his way through the field five spots in the 40-lap A-Main, Sanders scored a podium finish behind Ryan Gustin and Jason Hughes with Chris Brown and Kyle Strickler rounding out the top five.

Competing in the final night of the USMTS Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental at Ark-La-Tex Speedway, Sanders transferred into the B-Main after placing 3rd in his heat. Starting on the pole, Rodney cruised to a 15-lap consolation win earning him a 15th place starting spot for the feature. Paying $4,000 to the winner of Saturday night’s finale, Rodney Sanders improved eleven positions in the 50-lapper landing a 4th place finish behind Jake Gallardo, Stormy Scott and Johnny Scott with Chris Brown grabbing the 5th place spot.

February 20th, 2016 - Sanders Lands Top Five Finish at Volusia Speedway Park
1After a brief stint in his Modified, Rodney Sanders returned to his Super Late Model on Monday night at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) for the opening night 45th Annual UMP DIRTcar Nationals. Laying down the 2nd fastest time in his qualifying group, Rodney went on to score 3rd place finish in his heat transferring him into the 30-lap main event. 1Recording the 4th fastest time in his qualifying group on Tuesday night, Rodney needed a 4th place finish or better in his heat to make the show. Scoring a 3rd place finish, Sanders transferred into the A-Main with a 7th place starting position. Running in the top ten for the first 15 laps, Rodney Sanders looped around on the lap 16 sending him back to a 20th place outing.

1On Wednesday night in a field of fifty-two Super Late Models, Rodney Sanders followed up his 2nd fastest time in his qualifying group with an 8-lap heat race win. After receiving a 6th place starting spot for the main event, Sanders worked his way into the top five by the end of the 40-lapper. Battling for a $10,000 payday, Rodney scored a 5th place finish behind Scott Bloomquist, Jonathan Davenport, Dale McDowell, and Josh Richards.

1Returning to Volusia Speedway Park on Thursday, Rodney Sanders was one of fifty-eight cars signed in for the first night of World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series (WoO) action. After placing 9th in his heat, Rodney transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the feature. Transferring the top two, Sanders failed to make it out for his consolation event.

After recording the 10th fastest qualifying time in his group on Friday night, Sanders would need a 3rd place finish or better in his heat from a 4th place starting position. Falling back to a 9th place outing, Rodney transferred into the B-Main for one more shot at the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Needing a runner-up finish or better, Rodney Sanders retired an 8th place finish.

Wrapping up the 45th Annual DIRTcar Nationals, Rodney was one of forty-nine cars signed in on Saturday night. Needing a 3rd place finish or better in his heat, Sanders came one spot short with a 4th place finish. Battling for a 2nd place finish in his B-Main, Rodney fell two spots short again with a 4th place outing.

February 13th, 2016 - Sanders Captures USMTS Opener at Shady Oaks Speedway
1Making the trip to Shady Oaks Speedway (Goliad, Texas), Rodney Sanders was one of thirty Open Wheel Modifieds signed in on Thursday night for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) opener. Coming from 5th in his heat, Sanders scored a runner-up finish behind Cade Dillard. Starting on the 4th row for the $2,000-to-win A-Main, Sanders worked his way to the front by lap-22. Holding off a late race charge from Jason Hughes, Rodney captured his first victory of the 2016 season with Hughes, Cade Dillard, Joe Duvall, and Ben Kates rounding out the top five. 1Competing in the second night of action at Shady Oaks Speedway, Sanders logged a 3rd place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main for another shot at the $3,000-to-win feature. Scoring a runner-up finish behind Jason Hughes, Rodney earned an 8th row starting spot for the feature. With 35-laps to work his way to the front, Rodney Sanders retired a 23rd place finish.

Wrapping up the three-day USMTS opener, Rodney Sanders was one of thirty-three Modifieds signed in on Saturday night. Cruising to an 8-lap heat race win, Sanders earned a 3rd row starting position for the main event. Battling for the lead in the first ten laps, Rodney made hard contact with another competitor on lap-10 bringing an early end to his night.
