January 17th, 2016 - Sanders Lands Top Ten Finish in Super Late Model

On Friday night in his Super Late Model, Rodney Sanders improved five spots in his heat recording a 3rd place finish and securing a spot into the 30-lap feature event. Paying another $5,000 to the feature winner, Sanders fell one position retiring a solid 7th place outing.

1Starting in 4th for his heat race on Saturday night, Rodney worked his way to the front bringing home a heat race win. Earning the pole position starting spot for the $5,000-to-win feature, Sanders reeled in another top ten performance with a 9th place finish.

Returning back behind the wheel of his Open Wheel Modified on Saturday, Rodney scored a podium finish in his heat transferring him into the 25-lap main event. Looking for his first win of the season in his Modified, Sanders captured a runner-up finish behind Todd Schute with Ryan Gustin, Phillip Houston, and Ryan Mikkelson rounding out the top five.

In a field of thirty-one entries on Sunday for the sixth night of the Barnett Harley-Davidson Modifieds presented by MVT Action, Rodney Sanders recorded a 2nd place heat finish behind Stormy Scott. With 25-laps to work his way to the front in the A-Main, Sanders retired a 22nd place outing.

January 10th, 2016 - Rodney Sanders Begins 2016 Season at Wild West Shootout
1Kicking off the 2016 campaign, Rodney Sanders made the trip to USA Raceway (Tucson, Arizona) on Saturday powering both his Super Late Model and Open Wheel Modified. Drawing sixty Super Late Models for the 10th Annual Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout, Sanders logged a 4th place heat finish transferring him into the B-Main. Needing a 3rd place finish or better to make the show, Rodney edged his way into the feature with a 3rd place spot. Battling for the $5,000 payday in the 30-lap A-Main, Sanders pulled off late in the feature retiring a 22nd place finish.

In a field of forty-four cars for the Barnett Harley-Davidson Modifieds presented by MVT Action, Rodney cruised to an 8-lap heat race win giving him a top five starting spot for the feature. Leading the first nine laps, Sanders fell back one spot finishing 2nd behind Cade Dillard with Darron Fuqua, Phillip Houston, and Fito Gallardo rounding out the top five.

1The following night with fifty-seven Super Late Models signed in, Sanders fell one spot in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the top three into the feature, Rodney earned a 12th row starting spot for the feature with a 3rd place consolation outing. Returning behind the wheel of his #20 Swan Energy/MB Customs Open Wheel Modified on Sunday night, Rodney captured another heat race victory transferring him into the 25-lap feature. Getting into the wall on the first lap, Sanders failed to finish the A-Main.
