June 25th, 2016 - Rodney Places 5th in Inaugural Widox Wax Summersota Nationals
1Kicking off the inaugural Widow Wax Summersota Nationals, Rodney Sanders traveled to I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) on Thursday night for the three-day United Stated Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned show. Drawing fifty-even entries for the first round of two heat races, Sanders gained three spots in his first heat capturing a heat race win. Improving four more positions in his second heat, Rodney posted a 7th place finish giving 104.5 points after round one.

On Friday from the 11th place starting spot, Sanders soared to a 5th place finish. Starting on the 2nd row of his second heat, Sanders placed 2nd behind Lucas Schott putting him 8th overall with 173.5 points in the standings after the two rounds of heat action.

With a 8th place starting spot for the $15,000-to-win Widow Wax A-Main already secured, Rodney Sanders advanced three positions in the 72-lap A-Main notching a 5th place finish behind Stormy Scott, Johnny Scott, Cade Dillard, and Jason Hughes.

June 18th, 2016 - Sanders Pilots Both Cars at The Masters at Cedar Lake Speedway
1Coming off of two rainouts with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Rodney Sanders was one of thirty cars signed in at KRA Speedway (Willmar, Minnesota) on Thursday night for the RealTruck.com Northern Region event. Placing 2nd in his heat race behind Jason Hughes, Rodney was slated to start 6th for the 42-lap feature. With $3,000 on the line, Sanders improved four spots recording another runner-up finish behind Jason Hughes with Tim Johnson, Jason Thoennes, and Jacob Bless rounding out the top five.

1The following night Rodney was pulling double duty for the two-day 18th Annual Masters at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin). Drawing forty-two Modifieds four the USMTS sanctioned show, Sanders gained five spots in his heat recording a 4th place finish. Starting in 11th for the feature, Rodney dropped ten spots in the 42-lapper recording a 21st place outing.

1During the same night for the second stop of the UMP DIRTcar Summernationals Hell Tour, Rodney timed fastest in a group of nine Super Late Models earning him the pole position starting spot for his heat. Hanging on to a transfer spot into the main event, Sanders recording a 3rd place finish setting him up with a 9th place starting spot for the $5,000-to-win feature. On Saturday night in the USMTS division, Sanders scored a runner-up finish behind Ryan Mikkelson in his heat from the 7th place starting spot. Passing two cars in the 42-lap A-Main, Rodney posted a 6th place finish.

Wrapping up the UMP DIRTcar sanctioned Masters, Sanders placed 3rd in his heat race transferring him into the feature with a 7th place starting position. Slipping out of the top ten, Rodney Sanders logged a 17th place outing in the 50-lap finale.

June 11th, 2016 - Rodney Heads to the Famed Half-Mile for Dirt Late Model Dream
1Making the trip to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio), Rodney Sanders was one of seventy-two cars signed in on Thursday night for the 22nd Annual Dirt Late Model Dream. Transferring the top five out of the heats and into one of two preliminary features, Sanders fell one position short with a 6th place finish. Starting on the front row of his consolation event, Rodney dropped back to a 6th place outing failing to hit a transfer spot.

Making engine-swap on Friday afternoon, Sanders was slated to starting on the front row of his heat alongside Frank Heckenast Jr. with a brand new Clements engine under the hood. Hanging on to a transfer position, Rodney posted a 5th place finish setting him up with a 17th place starting spot for the feature. Gaining three positions in the 25-lap preliminary feature, Rodney Sanders logged a 14th place outing.

On Saturday for the final night of the Dirt Late Model Dream, Rodney would need a 3rd place finish or better to make the $100,000-to-win finale. Falling back to a 9th place outing, Sanders transferred into the B-Main for one last shot at the main event. Transferring the top four, Rodney Sanders logged a 14th place finish.

June 4th, 2016 - Sanders Posts Three Top Five Finishes With Lucas Oil MLRA Series
1Competing in his Super Late Model, Rodney Sanders visited Southern Iowa Speedway (Oskaloosa, Iowa) on Thursday night for the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) event. In a field of twenty-six Super Late Models, Sanders placed 4th in his heat locking his spot into the $3,000-to-win show. With 30-laps to gain some ground, Rodney worked his way up to a 3rd place finish behind Jesse Stovall and Jordan Yaggy with Chad Simpson and Jimmy Mars rounding out the top five.

1Following the MLRA series on Friday, Sanders was one of thirty-five cars signed in at Lee County Speedway (Donnellson, Iowa). Recording a 3rd place finish in his heat, Rodney was slated to start 4th for the $3,000-to-win feature. Closing out the three-day stint with the MLRA series, Rodney stopped at Randolph County Raceway (Moberly, Missouri) on Saturday night. Following a 4th place outing in his heat, Sanders battled his way up to solid 4th place finish in the feature behind Chad Simpson, Terry Philips, and Jesse Stovall with Austin Siebert coming in 5th.
