May 29th, 2016 - Rodney Sanders Wins at Mason City; Places 6th at Upper Iowa
1 Continuing with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) RealTruck.com Northern Region, Rodney Sanders traveled to Mason City Motor Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) on Thursday night. With twenty-seven cars signed in, Sanders gained five spots in his heat scoring a 3rd place finish. Earning a front row starting spot for the feature starting alongside Lucas Schott, Rodney jumped into the lead on the very first lap and never looked back. Leading all 32-laps, Rodney Sanders held off a late-race charge from Jason Hughes capturing a $3,000 payday and his sixth victory of the season. With the rain winning both of the USMTS scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Rodney Sanders returned to action on Sunday for the USMTS event at Upper Iowa Speedway (Decorah, Iowa). Drawing twenty-six entries for the 9th Annual “Donnybrook in Decorah”, Sanders logged a 6th place finish in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the top six, Sanders cruised to a 15-lap B-Main victory. Starting in 17th for the 42-lap affair, Rodney advanced eleven positions recording a 6th place finish.

May 21st, 2016 - Sanders Lands Two Podium Finishes in USMTS Action
1Rodney Sanders was back in the driver’s seat of his Open Wheel Modified on Friday night at Outlaw Motor Speedway (Oktaha, Oklahoma) for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned MSD Central Region event. Drawing a stout field of forty-nine cars, Sanders started the night off with a heat race win from the 2nd place starting position. Earning a 4th row high-side starting spot for the feature, Rodney advanced five spots posting a 3rd place finish behind Terry Phillips and Ryan Gustin with Jesse Sobbing and Dereck Ramirez completing the top five finishers.

Saturday night brought the USMTS followers to Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma) for the $3,000-to-win main event. Coming from the 6th place starting spot in his heat, Rodney stormed to heat race win again, earning him a 5th place starting spot for the feature. Working his way up to the lead by the 8th lap, Sanders fell back one spot when the checkers flew notching a runner-up finish behind Jason Hughes with Ryan Gustin, Jesse Sobbing, and Jeremy Payne trailing them across the finish line.

May 14th, 2016 - Rodney Sanders Places 2nd at Longdale Speedway in Late Model
1Behind the wheel of his Super Late Model, Rodney Sanders made the trip to Longdale Speedway (Longdale, Oklahoma) for the MARS DIRTcar Series event on Friday night. In a field of nineteen cars, Sanders notched a runner-up finish in his heat behind Ryan Gustin. Getting ready for the $2,000-to-win show, Rodney’s night was over after his crew discovered some engine troubles.

1Getting the car ready for Saturday, Sanders returned to Longdale Speedway where he started the night off with a heat race victory. Working his way into a podium finish in the feature, Rodney captured a runner-up finish behind Terry Phillips with Ryan Gustin, Tony Jackson Jr., and Payton Looney rounding out the top five. May 7th, 2016 - Sanders Records One Win and Rejoins Top Five in USMTS Standings
1Following the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Rodney Sanders visited Superbowl Speedway (Greenville, Texas) on Thursday night for the 2nd Annual North Texas Nationals. Drawing thirty-one cars, Rodney came up one position short of a transfer spot in his heat with a 4th place outing. Starting on the pole of his B-Main, Sanders cruised to a consolation win earning him a 13th place starting spot for the feature. With $3,000 on the line, Rodney Sanders advanced nine spots in the 40-lapper reeling in a 4th place finish behind Cade Dillard, Jesse Sobbing, and Scott Drake with Dereck Ramirez coming in 5th.

1Returning with the USMTS on Friday, Sanders joined thirty-two competitors at Lubbock Speedway (Lubbock, Texas) for the Production Jars Southern Region event presented by Day Motor Sports. Starting in 3rd in his heat, Rodney wheeled his way to the front securing is spot for the feature. Earning a pole position starting spot, Sanders led all 37-laps picking up his fifth win of the season with Jason Hughes, Jesse Sobbing, Dereck Ramirez, and Cade Dillard trailing him across the finish line. On Saturday night, Rodney Sanders stopped at Route 66 Motor Speedway (Amarillo, Texas) for the 7th Annual USMTS Amarillo Ambush. Cruising to another heat race victory, Sanders earned a second row starting spot for the feature starting alongside Scott Drake. Battling for a $3,000 payday, Rodney improved one positon in the 42-lapper notching a runner-up finish behind Jason Hughes with Scott Drake, Jeremy Gossett, and Cade Dillard rounding out the top five.
