October 29th, 2016 - Podium Finish for Sanders at Southern Oklahoma
1Running in the Texas Outlaw Modified Series (TOMS) sanctioned event, Rodney Sanders invaded Southern Oklahoma Speedway (Ardmore, Oklahoma) on Saturday night for the Inaugural TOMS Championships. Battling for a $4,000 payday in the 30-lap finale, Sanders landed a runner-up finish behind Cade Dillard with Triston Dycus, Thomas Tillison, and Colby Smith rounding out the Top 5.

October 23rd, 2016 - Rodney Wins Night Two of USRA Fall Nationals; Podium Finish in Final Night
1Powering the Wichita Tank Racing #20 Open Wheel Modified, Rodney Sanders visited Southern New Mexico Speedway (Las Cruces, New Mexico) on Friday for the 17th Annual S&S Fishing & Rental/Barnett Harley-Davidson United States Racing Association (USRA) Fall Nationals presented by G3 Fitness and MSD. Drawing 56 cars from the three-day event, Rodney edged his way into the opening night preliminary feature with a 5th place finish in his heat. Starting in 12th, Sanders jumped up five spots landing a 7th place finish.

1Returning on Saturday for another round of preliminary features, Sanders started the night off with a heat race win earning him the 3rd-starting spot for the A-Main. Jumping into the lead early, Rodney cruised to his 15th victory of the season over Dereck Ramirez, Terry Phillips, Zane DeVilbiss, and Ryan Gaylord.

With his spot already locked into the $12,200-to-win finale, Rodney rolled off on the front-row high side alongside Ryan Gustin on Sunday evening. Losing one position, Rodney Sanders notched a 3rd place finish behind Gustin and Stormy Scott with Ricky Thornton Jr. and Dereck Ramirez rounding out the Top 5.

October 9th, 2016 - Sanders Attends Fall Nationals in Late Model at Lucas Oil
1Returning to the Super Late Model ranks, Rodney Sanders invaded Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) on Friday for the two-day event co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA and the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS). In a field of 53 cars, Rodney fell one position short of transfer spot in his heat with a 3rd place outing. Sending the Top 2 out of the B-Main, Sanders landed a runner-up finish behind Tyler Erb locking his spot into the opening night A-Main. 1Returning on Saturday night to a field of 63 cars, Rodney placed 6th in his heat giving him one last shot at the A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Needing a 2nd place finish or better to make the $5,000-to-win finale, Sanders came up one position short with a 3rd place finish.

1Sunday night Rodney stopped at Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Missouri) for the MARS DIRTcar Series sanctioned Showdown on Route 66. Battling for a $6,600 payday in the feature, Rodney reeled in a 11th place outing.

October 1st, 2016 - Rodney Sanders Wins 4th Annual Sooner Showdown
1Competing in the two-day Grant Junghans Memorial, Rodney Sanders visited Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) on Thursday night for the Deuces Wild event. Placing 7th in his heat from the 9th-starting spot, Sanders transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the main event. Sending the Top 5 into one of the two opening night $1,500-to-win features, Rodney secured his spot with a runner-up finish behind Jesse Sobbing. Starting in 29th, Rodney Sanders improved six positions in the 25-lapper registering a 23rd place outing.

1The following night for the Grant Junghans Memorial, Rodney cruised to a heat race win early in the night putting him 12th on the starting rundown for the $10,002-to-win A-Main. Breaking into a podium spot, Sanders advanced nine positions in the 42-lapper notching a 3rd place finish behind Lucas Schott and Jason Hughes with Dereck Ramirez and Cade Dillard rounding out the Top 5. On Saturday night Sanders stopped at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Salina, Oklahoma) for the final night of the 4th Annual Sooner Showdown. Battling with the defending champ of the Sooner Showdown Jason Hughes in the late-stages of the A-Main, Sanders edged the Hughes at the finish line to pick up his 14th win of the season and a $3,000 payday.
