April 21st, 2017 - Sanders Places 5th in Rumble on the River at Lakeside
1Piloting the Lance Town owned #21 Open Wheel Modified, Rodney Sanders headed to Atchison County Raceway (Atchison, Kansas) on Thursday night for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned 2nd annual Cage Match. Holding his starting spot in his 12-lap heat, Sanders registered a 2nd place finish behind Derek Ramirez positioning him 5th on the starting grid for the feature. Losing five spot in the 50-lapper, Rodney landed a 10th place outing.

The following night with 26 cars signed in at Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) for the 6th annual Rumble on the River, Sanders charged to an 8-lap heat race win from the 3rd-starting spot. Rolling off 4th for the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Rodney dropped one spot to place 5th behind Stormy Scott, Ricky Thornton Jr., R.C. Whitwell, and Zack VanderBeek.

April 15th, 2017 - Sanders Tops Final Night of MLRA Spring Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway
1Rodney Sanders visited Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) on Friday for the opening weekend with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA). Drawing 41 Super Late Models for the two-day Spring Nationals, Sanders started the night off with a heat race win positioning him 4th on the starting rundown for the opening night feature. Holding his spot for all 25-laps, Rodney posted a 4th place finish behind Will Vaught, Terry Phillips, and Tony Jackson Jr. with Jesse Stovall coming in 5th.

1The following night for the $3,500 top prize, Sanders charged to another heat race early win locking him into the 2nd-starting position for the A-Main. Battling with Randy Timms for the top spot throughout the 40-lap feature, Rodney came out on top in the final laps scoring his fourth victory of the season with Timms, Jesse Stovall, Will Vaught, and Chase Junghans completing the Top 5 finishers. April 8th, 2017 - Pair of Top 10 Finishes for Sanders in Late Model Over IL Swing
1Behind the wheel of the Wichita Tank Racing #20 Super Late Model, Rodney Sanders made the trek to Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois) on Friday for the regular night of racing. Battling for a Top 5 finish in a stout field in the feature, Sanders landed a 4th place spot behind Jason Feger, Bob Gardner, and Ryan Unzicker with Mike Spatola coming in 5th.

1On Saturday Sanders headed to Peoria Speedway (Peoria, Illinois) for the unsanctioned Chuck Hamilton Memorial. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Sanders posted a 7th place outing in the 50-lap affair. (Jeff Hall photo)
