Piloting David Tanner’s #25 Open Wheel Modified and his own Super Late Model, Sanders locked his spot into the $5,000-to-win Late Model feature with a heat race victory. Earning a front-row starting spot for the feature alongside Billy Moyer, Rodney fell five positions in the 30-lap feature posting a 7th place finish. In the Modified ranks, Sanders placed 4th in his heat securing him into the $2,000-to-win A-Main. Coming short of a Top 10 finish, Rodney Sanders logged a 17th place outing.

After having Thursday evening off, Rodney resumed action on Friday at Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona) competing in two divisions for the final three nights of the Wild West Shootout. After timing in 3rd fastest in his Super Late Models in time trials, Sanders broke in his heat race sending him into the B-Main. Coming from the back of the field, Rodney charged to a consolation victory securing his spot into the show. In the Modified division, Sanders captured a heat race win early but ran into the mechanical failures in the feature forcing him to pull off. Starting 22nd for the $5,000-to-win Late Model feature, Rodney Sanders advanced 11 spots in the 30-lapper posting an 11th place finish.
