June 18th, 2017 - Podium Finish in Modified Masters at Cedar Lake
1 Rodney Sanders kicked off a busy week with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on Wednesday night for the 2nd annual Chubbs Performance Midweek Madness presented by Victory Door Systems at Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota). With 29 cars on hand for the USMTS Northern Region presented by Summit Racing Equipment, Sanders lost three spots in his heat race to place 7th, sending him into the B-Main. Running into mechanical issues before the start of the consolation event, Sanders failed to make it out for the 10-lapper after discovering problems with his oil line.

After getting the problems under the hood straightened out, Rodney Sanders headed to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) on Thursday night for the Prelude to The Modified Masters. Jumping up one spot in his heat race, Sanders cruised to 8-lap heat race win locking him into the 4th-starting position for the USMTS sanctioned feature. With $3,000 on the line, Rodney improved one spot in the 40-lap affair posting a 3rd place finish behind Zack VanderBeek and Terry Phillips with Cade Dillard and Travis Saurer completing the Top 5 finishers.

On Friday night for two rounds of heats, Sanders held his spot in his first 12-lap heat race scoring a runner-up finish behind Kenny Gaddis. Starting in 9th in his second heat, Rodney stormed through the field six positions reeling in a 3rd place finish. Earning a spot into the Sybesma Graphics Pole Dash, Rodney notched a 3rd place outing locking him into the 3rd-starting spot for the $50,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday.

After completing the first 24 laps, Mother Nature moved in on a caution flag sending all cars pitside. With the storm showing no signs of letting up, officials postponed the finals 46 laps to Sunday morning.

Returning on Sunday morning to his 3rd-starting position, Sanders jumped up one spot in the remaining laps registering a runner-up finish behind Ryan Gustin with Zack VanderBeek, Jimmy Mars, and Jake Hartung completing the Top 5 finishers.

June 10th, 2017 - Sanders Attends Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway
1Bringing the richest weekend of the season in Super Late Model ranks to life, Rodney sanders visited Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday evening for the 23rd annual Dirt Late Model Dream. Drawing a stout field of 79 UMP DIRTcar entries, Sanders fell two spots short of a transfer position in his heat with a 7th place finish. Needing a 4th place spot or better to make the opening night $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Sanders logged a 7th place outing.

Returning on Friday for another round of preliminary features, Sanders edged his way into the feature with a 4th place finish in his heat race. With $10,000 on the line, Rodney held his starting spot for all 25-laps recording a 15th place finish.

On Saturday for the final night of the 23rd annual Dirt Late Model Dream, Rodney logged a 8th place finish in his heat race giving him one last shot at the $100,000-to-win finale with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 4 into the show, Sanders dropped back to a 23rd place outing in the 20-lapper bringing an early end to his weekend.

June 3rd, 2017 - Rodney Sanders Follows MLRA Swing
1Rodney Sanders returned with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) on Thursday night kicking off a three-day stint at Scotland County Speedway (Memphis, Missouri). In a field of 21 cars, Sanders locked his spot into the opening night feature with a 3rd place finish in his heat race. Bringing home a Top 5 finish in the A-Main, Rodney scored a 5th place spot behind Chris Simpson, Jesse Stovall, Tony Jackson Jr., and Terry Phillips.

The following night in a field of 25 cars at Randolph County Raceway (Moberly, Missouri), Rodney scored a 3rd place finish in his heat race positioning him 9th on the starting grid for the feature. Moving up one spot in the 40-lapper, Sanders registered a 8th place outing.

On Saturday night after breaking out his secondary car at Randolph County Raceway (Moberly, Missouri), Sanders secured his spot into the A-Main with a 7th place finish in his heat. With $3,000 on the line, Rodney dropped back to a 17th place outing.
