April 29, 2018 - Sanders Soars to First Win of the Season at Route 66 Motor Speedway
1Rodney Sanders headed to West Texas Raceway (Lubbock, Texas) on Friday evening returning with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS). Improving two positions in his heat race, Sanders recorded a 3rd place finish locking him into the 11th-starting position for the A-Main. Breaking into the Top-10, Rodney gained two spots logging a 9th place outing.

1The following night at Route 66 Motor Speedway (Amarillo, Texas) for the 9th annual Amarillo Ambush, Rodney advanced through the field seven positions in his heat race reeling in an 8-lap victory. Earning the 3rd-starting position for the feature, Rodney led wire-to-wire en route to his first win of the season and a $3,000 payday. Sunday night brought 32 USMTS entries to Enid Speedway (Enid, Oklahoma) for the 2nd annual Oklahoma Spring Nationals. Holding his spot in his heat race, Sanders logged a 3rd place finish positioning him 13th on the starting grid for the $2,500-to-win A-Main. Breaking into the Top-5, Rodney gained eight spots to place 5th behind Lucas Schott, Ryan Gustin, Dereck Ramirez, and Johnny Scott.

April 22, 2018 - Rodney Sanders Attends Short Track Shootout at SNMS
1Kicking off the three-day Rancho Milagro Short Track Shootout, Rodney Sanders was one of 53 Open Wheel Modifieds signed in at Southern New Mexico Speedway (Las Cruces, New Mexico) on Thursday night for the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned weekend. Jumping up three spots in his heat, Sanders recorded a 3rd place finish positioning him 12th on the starting grid for the opening night feature. Breaking into the Top-10, Rodney improved five spots to place 7th.

Wrapping up Short Track Shootout on Saturday, Rodney dropped two positions in his heat logging a 6th place finish. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the finale, Sanders streaked to a 15-lap B-Main victory locking him into the 14th-starting spot. With $3,000 on the line, Rodney Sanders passed three cars in the 40-lapper recorded an 11th place finish.

April 14, 2018 - Podium Finish With USMTS at Canyon Speedway Park
1Friday night found Rodney Sanders in action at Canyon Speedway Park (Peoria, Arizona) returning with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS). Passing three cars in his heat race, Sanders landed a 5th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top-5 into the opening night feature, Rodney captured a 10-lap consolation victory locking him into the 14th-starting position for the A-Main. Wheeling his way into the Top-10, Sanders improved six spots in the 40-lap affair to place 8th.

Returning on Saturday evening, Sanders started the night off with an 8-lap heat race win positioning him 6th on the starting grid for the feature. With $3,375 on the line, Rodney Sanders jumped up four spots reeling in a runner-up finish behind Johnny Scott with Jake O’Neil, Stormy Scott, and Bumper Jones completing the Top-5 finishers.
