January 14, 2018 - Top 10 Finish in Night Three of Wild West Shootout
1After issues in qualifying ended his night early on Wednesday, Rodney Sanders was back in action at Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona) on Friday for the final three nights of the Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout. Moving up two spots in his heat, Rodney edged his way into the A-Main with the 4th and final transfer spot. Starting in 14th, Sanders gained four positions in the 40-lap affair to place 10th. 1The following night in a field of 46 cars, Sanders logged a 6th place outing in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 4 into the main event, Rodney came up one spot short with a 5th place outing sending him into the Pro Power Dash Non-qualifiers feature. Outrunning the field, Rodney Sanders elected to take the $1,000 payday rather than joining the main event from the tail.

Wrapping up the 12th annual Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout on Sunday, Rodney locked his spot into the $13,000-to-win finale with a 4th place finish in his heat race. Rolling off 13th, Sanders dropped three spots in the 50-lapper logging a 16th place outing.

January 7, 2018 - Sanders Begins 2018 Season at Wild West Shootout
1Bringing the 2018 season to life, Rodney Sanders headed to FK ROD Ends Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona) on Saturday night kicking off the 12th annual Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout. Drawing 50 Super Late Models for the first round of six, Sanders followed up the second fastest time in his qualifying group with a 3rd place finish in his heat race. Earning the 18th-starting position for the opening night feature, Rodney improved two spots to place 16th.

1Returning on Sunday for another $5,000 top prize, Sanders slipped back to a 6th place finish in his heat race sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 3 into the A-Main, Rodney scored a 2nd place finish behind Kyle Beard positioning him 22nd on the starting grid for the A-Main. Breaking into the Top 10, Rodney Sanders advanced through the field 12 spots in the 40-lap affair reeling in a 10th place finish. (Tom Macht photo)
