July 22, 2018 - Sanders Scores 8,000 Silver Dollars at I-80 Speedway; Wins USRA Show at Mason City Motor Speedway
1On Tuesday night the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) returned to action at Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa) for the 12th annual Webster City Wrangle presented by AmericInn. Passing one car in his heat race, Sanders recorded a 2nd place finish behind Lucas Schott positioning him 8th on the starting grid for the opening night feature. Breaking into the Top-5, Rodney gained four spots to place 4th behind Johnny Scott, Lucas Schott, and Stormy Scott with Casey Arneson coming in 5th.

1Wednesday night brought 26 USMTS followers to Southern Iowa Speedway (Oskaloosa, Iowa) for the 11th annual Summit Racing Summer Classic. Jumping up one spot in his 8-lap heat, Sanders cruised to a heat race victory earning him 2nd-starting position for the feature. Leading wire-to-wire, Rodney Sanders streaked to his sixth win of the season topping Stormy Scott, Johnny Scott, Terry Phillips, and Lucas Schott at the line. He claimed a $2,500 payday for his dominant performance in the 30-lapper.

On Friday night the USMTS rolled into I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Nebraska) for the 8th annual Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals. In a field of 36 cars, Sanders dropped one spot in his first heat to place 2nd behind Tyler Wolff. Rolling off 9th in his second heat race, Rodney streaked through the field seven spots notching a runner-up finish behind Jason Hughes. Earning a spot into the Moock Trucking Qualifier, Rodney scored a 2nd place finish behind Lucas Schott securing his spot into the main event on Saturday night.

1On Sunday night Rodney Sanders stopped at Mason City Motor Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) for the United States Racing Association (USRA) sanctioned program. Starting in 6th for a make-up feature from June 24th, Sanders passed three cars reeling in a 3rd place finish behind Corey Dripps and Carter VanDenBerg with Lance Mari and J.D. Auringer rounding out the Top-5.

1Later that night for the full program, Sanders streaked to a heat race win from the 7th-starting position. Starting the feature in 9th, Rodney passed Brandon Hare for the lead near the halfway point and went on to claim his third straight victory and eighth on the year. July 7, 2018 - Sanders Bags Top 5 Finish in Gopher 50 at Deer Creek
1Rodney Sanders traveled to Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wisconsin) on Friday evening for the River City Rumble. In a field of 40 Open Wheel Modifieds, Rodney secured his spot into the A-Main with a 4th place finish in his heat. Slated to start the feature in 20th, Sanders suffered mechanical issues before the start of the show that prevented him from making it out.

1The following night at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) for the United States Racing Association (USRA) sanctioned Gopher 50, Rodney passed seven cars in his heat reeling in a 2nd place finish behind Nate Wasmund. Earning the 6th-starting position for the A-Main, Sanders jumped up two spots in the 25-lapper to place 4th behind Zack VanderBeek, Stormy Scott, and Jake Timm with Jason Krohn coming in 5th.
