May 27, 2018 - Sanders Lands 5th Place Finish at Deer Creek Speedway
1On Saturday evening Rodney Sanders returned with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) for the 16th annual Southern Minnesota Spring Challenge. In a field of 44 cars, Sanders started the night off with an 8-lap heat race win locking him into the 4th-starting position for the A-Main. Losing one spot in the 40-lap affair, Rodney scored a 5th place finish behind Dustin Sorensen, Lucas Schott, Johnny Scott, and Zack VanderBeek.

The following night at Upper Iowa Speedway (Decorah, Iowa) for the 11th annual Nordic Nationals, Rodney locked his spot into the $2,500-to-win A-Main with a 3rd place finish in his heat. Starting in 6th, Sanders held his spot for all 40-laps to place 6th.

May 6, 2018 - Pair of Top 5 Finishes With USMTS
1After losing Friday’s opener at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas), Rodney Sanders was one of 43 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) entries signed in at Tri-State Speedway (Pocola, Oklahoma) on Saturday night. Passing four cars in his heat race, Sanders streaked to an 8-lap heat race victory positioning him 5th on the starting grid for the opening night feature. Breaking into a podium spot, Rodney jumped up three positions to place 2nd behind Zack VanderBeek with Jake O’Neil, Terry Phillips, and Jason Hughes completing the Top-5 finishers.

On Saturday night at Creek County Speedway (Kellyville, Oklahoma) for the Henryetta Ford Clash at The Creek, Sanders locked his spot into the $4,000-to-win A-Main with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Lucas Schott. Starting in 4th, Rodney held his spot for all 40-laps notching a 4th place finish behind Stormy Scott, Johnny Scott, and Jake O’Neil with Lucas Schott coming in 5th.
