January 19, 2020 - 5th Place Finish in Round Three of WWS
1For the third round of the Wild West Shootout on Wednesday evening at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona), Rodney Sanders gained two spots in his heat race to pick up the 8-lap heat race victory. Starting the $1,000-to-win A-Main in third, Sanders dropped two spots to place 5th Tanner Mullens, Jake O’Neil, Calvin Iverson, and Lucas Schott.

Returning to action on Friday evening, Sanders passed eight cars in his heat race to capture the 8-lap victory. Rolling off on the pole for the feature, Rodney fell one spot to register a runner-up finish behind Dustin Strand with Tyler Peterson, Mitch Keeter, and Calvin Iverson rounding out the Toip-5.

On Saturday night, Rodney secured his spot into the $1,000-to-win A-Main with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Lucas Schott. Jumping up three spots in the 25-lap feature, Sanders scored a 4th place finish behind Matt Leer, Tyler Peterson, and Lucas Schott with Dustin Strand coming in 5th.

Wrapping up the 14th annual Wild West Shootout on Sunday, Sanders improved seven positions in his heat to register a 3rd place finish. After taking over the lead near the halfway point of the feature, Rodney dropped back to a 4th place finish behind Tyler Peterson, Joe Duvall, and Dustin Strand with Lucas Schott coming in 5th.

January 12, 2020 - Rodney Sanders Rules Second Round of Wild West Shootout
1 On Saturday night Rodney Sanders returned to action at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway (Queen Creek, Arizona) for the 14th annual Wild West Shootout. With passing points from heat races setting the grid for the opening night feature, Sanders posted a 5th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Needing to place 4th or better to make the main event, Rodney secured his spot with a runner-up finish behind Fito Gallardo. With $1,000 on the line, Rodney Sanders logged a 17th place outing in the 25-lap affair.

The following night, Rodney passed seven cars in his heat race to place 2nd behind Chad Olsen. Starting on the pole for the A-Main, Sanders lost the top spot early but quickly tracked down leader Travis Sauer. Sliding ahead of Saurer after he jumped the cushion, Rodney soared to his fourth win of the season over Lucas Schott, Tyler Wolff, Dustin Strand, and Matt Gilbertson. January 5, 2020 - Sanders Sweeps Battle at the Border in New Mexico

“Anytime you can get a win it’s a good night, winning three nights in a row, that’s a great way to start the year,” said Sanders. “We had a good car all weekend. I’m looking forward to heading to Arizona this week, we had a lot of success there last year.” I would like to thank everyone that helps our racing program. We’ve got a lot of great folks behind us, who make this all possible.”

1Friday night’s inaugural Battle at the Border drew a field of 29 United States Racing Association (USRA) Modified entries. To start the night, Sanders passed five cars in his heat race to pick up the 8-lap victory. Earning the eighth-starting position for the A-Main, Rodney outdueled Fita Gallardo to capture his first win of the season and a $1,000 payday. Gallardo, Tyler Wolff, Nick Rivera, and Royal Jones complete the Top-5 finishers.

On Saturday evening, Rodney gained two spots in his heat race to place third. Starting the A-Main in tenth, Rodney tracked down polesitter Calvin Iverson early and went on to claim the $1,200 prize over Iverson, Mitch Keeter, Bumper Jones, and Fito Gallardo.

For the final round of the Battle at the Border on Sunday afternoon, Sanders secured his spot into the finale with an 8-lap heat race victory. Streaking to his third win of the season in as many nights, Rodney topped Fit Gallardo, Bumper Jones, Mitch Keeter, and Calvin Iverson at the line to secure the $2,000 finale.
