Sanders lands runner-up finish with World of Outlaws at Cedar Lake
Making his first start of the season in the Super Late Model ranks, Rodney Sanders invaded Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) on Thursday evening piloting Jimmy Mars secondary No. 20 Late Model for the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series sanctioned weekend. With the Top 12 qualifiers from the first time trial session getting locked into the Elimination Showdown preliminary feature, Sanders recorded the 10th fastest lap overall in time trials. Receiving the third-starting position for the $3,000-to-win show after the invert, Rodney survived all three elimination segments and the 8-lap shootout to place second behind Cade Dillard with Brandon Sheppard, Ricky Weiss, and Darrell Lanigan rounding out the Top-5.

On Saturday evening, Sanders posted a third place finish in his heat, which positioned him eighth on the starting grid for the $20,000-to-win finale. Falling short of a Top-10 finish in the 40-lap affair, Rodney slipped back to an 18th place outing.
