Rodney Sanders
Fourth-place finish in Fall Jamboree opener
Rodney Sanders was one of 67 USRA Modifieds on hand at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.) on Thursday afternoon to lift the lid on the 23rd annual Fall Jamboree weekend. With an eighth-to-third run in his heat lining him up seventh on the starting grid for the preliminary feature, Sanders jumped up three spots to place fourth.
The following night as the weekend shifted underneath the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) banner, Rodney secured his spot into the A-Main with a second-place finish in his heat. With $5,000 on the line, Sanders passed six cars in the 40-lapper to register a fourth-place finish. He trailed Jake Timm, Tanner Mullens, and Dustin Sorensen to the checkers with Al Hejna coming in fifth.
For the finale on Saturday, Sanders scored a runner-up finish in his heat, which positioned him fifth on the starting grid for the $10,600-to-win finale. Losing one spot in the 50-lap affair, Rodney recorded a sixth-place finish.
Rodney is currently fourth in the latest USMTS point standings.
