With 38 World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series entries on hand for the three-day event, Sanders’ sixth-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main. Transferring the top-three into the $10,000-to-win preliminary feature, Sanders fell one spot short with a fourth-place outing.
In a stout field of 73 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) competitors on Thursday, Rodney followed up a ninth-to-third run in his heat with a ninth-to-second showing in the 30-lap feature. He followed Lucas Schott across the line with Carlos Ahumada Jr. rounding out the podium.
With his Super Late Model parked for the weekend, Sanders came in fourth in his Modified heat on Friday before placing third in the B-Main. Passing five cars in the preliminary feature, Rodney logged a 16th-place outing.
For the weekend finale on Saturday, Rodney secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win Dairyland Showdown with a runner-up finish in his B-Main after placing fifth in his heat. Starting in 18th, Sanders passed four cars to finish 14th.
